Certified Diamonds
The best thing that could ever happen in a student’s life is probably to graduate and receive his very own certificate and all of these with flying colors would just be the icing on top of the cake. But this so-called graduation and certificate giving not only happen to students, believe me it also is the most sought after event in a diamond’s life. Yes, you’ve heard right – diamonds!
Diamonds are the ultimate when it comes to gemstones. Not only are they celebrated by their timeless beauty but also by their superb physical eminence. Their outstanding brilliance leaves women weak to their knees. They really mean it when they say looks can kill because one glance and a tiny glimmer from its sparkle would completely win you over.
Diamonds are the hardest mineral known to man. It scored 10 in the Moh’s scale; next to it is the mineral corundum that would need to multiply its hardness by four before it could match that of the diamonds. Diamonds come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Believe it or not they are in a wide variety of spectral colors such as red, pink, yellow, orange, purple, brown, and black just to name a few. In fact, there are currently 300 colors that were identified and each color has an infinite number of shades and tones!
Of course, along with its beauty comes a price tag that a number of us cannot afford. But what you may not know that each piece of diamond undergo a rigorous grading procedure before given their worth. It is such a thorough examination that only 20 percent of naturally mined diamonds pass and would be considered qualified to be sold as gemstones and the majority of them (80 percent) are used fro industrial purposes.
They are graded according to the 4 C’s of diamonds – color, clarity, carat weight, and cut. They will be scrutinized on each of these aspects before a gemologist could determine their price. But it wouldn’t be enough for them to have their worth. On some cases, they have a piece of diamond certified.
A diamond certificate does not necessarily affect the price of the stone but it will ensure you that what you purchase is real and authentic. Certified diamonds come with a quality report and dossier that would give you a detailed analysis of your purchased stone. They are compiled by a team of experts and gemologist in an extensive laboratory.
Here are 3 of the most famous associations who pass verdicts on certified diamonds:

In addition to their certified diamonds, they are even the group trusted to examine most of the world’s illustrious gemstones. Each screened gems come with an extensive report detailing all of the gem’s significant aspects.

EGL
The European Gemological League has been the top in setting criteria and standards for diamond certification. EGL certified diamonds are what gemologist call as top-of-the-charts. Their reports and certificates are known and recognized all over the world. However, this group does not sell diamonds and other gemstones.
Having a diamond certified doesn’t enhance the worth of your stone; it is conducted for several purposes. Some retailers would prefer their stone be certified for it attracts more buyers. But for whatever purposes it may serve, you know that your diamond will never be suspected of being synthetic and fake once you have it certified.
