Titanium Rings

When one chooses a ring for symbolical reasons, such as engagement, wedding, or anniversary, one thing to consider aside from face value is strength, durability and yes the price. I can name several rings at once where all the first three aspects are met even if averagely but oftentimes, the last aspect is always left out, the price.

Besides, why bother with the price? If you were to spend for the one moment that can mean forever for you, then why hold back? Engagements are made to be magical, but without the right constituents, no magic can be made. Weddings aren’t much less – much more in fact. The last thing you want to have is a cheap metal band masquerading as your engagement ring thus also your cheap intent?

Wrong! Yes, value is one important aspect to consider if you have to make one thing special. But on engagement rings, remember that the ring’s beauty and exquisiteness consist only of one aspect in the four essentials of a ring’s importance. How would you fill the other three (or most specifically the last one, the price) if you were to give all in the first aspect? And just to let you now, being cheap does have its share of beauty, that’s why I’m talking about titanium rings.

First let’s talk about the metal titanium. Titanium is one of the most abundant metals in the earth crust, and can be found practically anywhere, even on ashes. Because of this, titanium is also very inexpensive. As a metal, titanium is one of the strongest, as strong (or stronger) than steel yet about 50% lighter than steel. This makes an interesting metal, compounded further by the fact that it is also corrosion resistant and lustrous. Titanium’s applications are already very vast and the recent application of titanium is in jewelry.

In jewelry, titanium exudes better properties than steel or iron, far stronger and lighter, thereby rendering both options absent on high end jewelries. Unlike the first two, titantuim doesn’t rust or decay, including corrosion due to saltwater. It has a rare charm, like an ash smeared metal, it features a dullish luster, though may seem imperfect can undoubtedly offer the most exotic looks for jewelry. And like silver, gold and platinum, titanium is very hypoallergenic. That is because it doesn’t decay like iron and steel, whose minute part could penetrate the skin and into the blood stream.

As a strong metal like platinum, it’s very hard to work shapes on titanium. Such that the designs and shapes of titanium engagement ring and titanium wedding rings are often very simplistic, sometimes ranging from simple bands with gems attached. Its strength serves a purpose; titanium rings can securely hold the stone, though oftentimes they are attached on a bezel or channel set. Prong settings are all but impossible to titanium rings. And if there is, the prong that holds the gemstone is usually riveted in place. To particular customers, these aspects may be off putting, that’s why for titanium, the best bet is bezel.

One of the unique aspects of titanium rings is that the metal allows treatment so that it gives of striking color hues. Black, deep violet or deep blue are examples of the hues a titanium metal can get. The outcome is usually very exquisite, especially if these rare colored metals are paired with light colored gems.

For those individuals who wished for a ring that’s very attractive, long lasting yet cheap, I would always suggest titanium rings. Rings made by titanium are usually cheap, that’s one fact anyone should remember. That would also mean you have more money to spend more on finer details of the ring. You can perhaps put in more cash for the stone, or spend a bit on its insurance.
